Other Books in the Series
This was my first time reading a book by Lisa Renee and it was interesting. Acers of Promise is the second book in her Single Again series. I thought that Chantelle, her son, and her love interest grew dramatically through the story and that all the characters really played well off each other. I also enjoyed how Lisa Renee interwove some of the Australian culture into the story via the characters speak patterns or just through their way of life (I mean being paid to stay home and teach your kids?!). Plus, the story line had several ups and downs that kept my interest. The only thing I did not particularly like was how Chantelle seemed to be written in second person part of the time and first person at others, and her relationships were a bit odd at first. But I did enjoy the ending of the story.
I give this book 4 (3.5 rounded up to four) for the unique plot, the character driven story, and the themes of forgiveness and second chances.
*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.
